Camden Drive-In Movie Nights Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13, 8:30 pm to 10 pm at the Downtown Waterfront Friday, August 21, 8 pm to 10 pm at the Downtown Waterfront For three nights in the summer, a pop-up drive-in movie theater will be set up behind Campbell’s Field. These three drive-in events mark the return of drive-in movies to its birthplace in Camden. Please note: there will be a cost to attend.
3rd Thursday Concerts Thursday, June 18, 4-8pm at Northgate park Thursday, July 16, 4-8pm at Johnson Park Thursday, August 20, 4-8pm at Location TBD As a complement to the growing 3rd Thursday gallery and arts crawl, CTL will light up a temporary concert stages with musical headliners, local and regional bands, spoken word, and other performance and street art activities.
Community Movie Nights Friday, June 19, 8:30 pm at Johnson Park Friday, September 18, 8 pm at Northgate Park On two different nights, a family friendly movie will be shown outdoors at Johnson and Northgate parks. Come join community residents and visitors in a free event where popcorn will be served. City of Camden Arts Festival Saturday, September 19, 10 am – 4 pm at Location TBD
The day-long arts festival of sound, movement, crafts, food, and fun will feature a wide range of musical acts on two stages, spoken word, family events, street performers, and more; plus arts and crafts booths, exhibitions, and interactive arts activities – all designed to celebrate Camden and its people.
Outdoor Yoga Classes Every Tuesday evening from June 2 to September 29, 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Johnson Park Looking to stretch out and get some outdoor exercise in Camden? The YMCA will be leading free outdoor yoga classes at Johnson Park. The event is open to all ages and fitness levels.
Artist-led, Community-driven Public Art Projects & Workshops July though September
Two artists will be commissioned to design and build a pair of large-scale public art installations and conduct public workshops that engage the neighborhoods in the work.
Summer Youth Musical June through August, with two performances on dates TBD
A world-renowned poet and playwright will lead a six-week workshop for up to 40 children ages 10-13, who will create, produce, and perform a new musical about their neighborhoods. Sessions: Mon-Thurs, 10am-2pm.
Summer Wheels -- Skate & Bike Project June through October
Last year’s popular skate park will be recreated and expanded to include new ideas and opportunities for young people and neighbors to build something fun together. All-About-Camden Juried Art Exhibition Dates to be determined, beginning in late August or early September For this juried exhibition, artists will be invited to submit paintings, photography, prints, mixed-media, and works on paper that depict settings and subjects in Camden NJ.
